It has come to our attention that junk email appears to be coming from Banded Software.
Tthis is not the case, and if it were, it would be much easier to correct the issue. The
spammers involved are forging the bandedsoftware.com address in the emails they send. So
it may appear that we are the originating party ("From" field), or it may be set as the
return path, or reply-to address. This means that all emails such as delivery failures or
out-of-office messages come back to us (Banded Software), backscatter. More information

Why was Banded Software chosen? We don't know. This type of spam usually involves finding
a small, but valid domain from which the emails would appear to be trusted.

Due to the nature of the problem, there is no practical solution for the issue, as the
current implementations for sending / receiving email don't include a global facility for
authenticity checks. Until there is, this type of spam will continue negatively affect
both victims. The receiver of the spam, and the website abused in order to take the blame.

Banded Software offers an apology for any inconvience caused.

In order to prevent the majority of spam received via these fake accounts, the following
accounts can be blacklisted
